ViewSonic ViewPad 10 VPAD10_AHUS_05 Wi Fi/Bluetooth 10.1-Inch Discounts

Patricia A. Henry (Peoria, IL, US) :
The seller said that this was like new. It was full of crap and had hardly any room on it for anything else. I had to take it to get it cleaned out. Be careful with this seller.

Tim Yenmor "Tim" (Chicago) :
First of all, I need to make it clear that I do not own one of these devices. I am the site owner of viewsonic gtablet for dummies (google search it). I am writing this review to make people aware that barely 4 months after the viewsonic gtablet was out in the market viewsonic dropped all support for the device. If you call them now about the gtablet, they will deny ever knowing anything about it. That's what going to happen to your viewsonic viewpad if you buy one. We as consumers need to stop supporting such immoral business practices from companies as big as viewsonic.

Clyde Lerner "Clyde Lerner" (Silicon Valley, CA) :
Wow - this tablet really sucks. The brand new unit worked for about 2 weeks and then it no longer held a charge. Sent it back under warranty, and after 4 weeks, got a unit directly from Viewsonic with Best Buy stickers all over it, indicating to me it was a DOA unit that Best Buy returned to them. This unit had no screen sensitivity - couldn't push any buttons. So, unit #3 - got it back after only 1 week. Brand new unit, I could tell from packaging. Turns on to Windows, but screen won't respond when I try to get to Android OS. When it is in Windows - it doesn't show ANY of the wireless networks in my neighborhood(or mine!). I'm really surprised Viewsonic would sell such a piece of crap. I will be returning this and then sell it. I've already bought the Nexus 7 tablet.

ViewBook VB730 7-Inch Android 2.2 Wi-Fi/BT Discounts

M. Arias "mkarias" (Brick, NJ) :
Overall, the ViewBook performed OK and is meant to compete in the low-end tablet market with a price of $230. The ViewBook has some good features: 1) great screen compared to other resistive screens; 2) front facing camera; 3) mini-HDMI port; 4) Bluetooth; 5) played video formats including HD without any problems; and 6) handwriting recognition works fine. However, there are some negatives: 1) poor body construction; 2) poor screen (resolution & not capacitive); 3) slightly weaker processor; 4) no 1+1 nor multi-touch screen; and 5) significant difference in battery life between having the WiFi on and having it off. Unless you need a front facing camera and a HDMI port, I would rather buy a Nook Color and install CM7. If ViewBook 730's price was under $200, I would be more incline to recommend it if you are looking for a low-end tablet.

Curielg (Georgia) :
I purchased this tablet for my Mother. I loaded it with APPs for her. The problem is that the Security Feature to require a password or PIN doesn't work. I enable it, but whenever I click on purchase it doesn't request the password or PIN, it just purchases the application. If I remove my Amazon account and create one for my Mother, all the APPs are rendered useless, because when I try to open one, it tells me that I'm not owner of the APP; thus I can't remove it. There appears to be something wrong with the Security feature/"Parental Controls"s as it should required a password if it's enabled. I would rate it 4 stars if these weren't an issue. Please help!

Chen (usa) :
Not a bad tablet if your on a budge. It is very cheap plastic and screen shatters easily when you drop it. There is no android market installed on the tablet, neither can you install it and have it to work. Apps are very limited and it lags a lot sometimes. The battery life is decent but the charger is terrible. Terrible quality therefore I returned it and got myself an Ipad.

Viewsonic V7E_1WNA1US7_01 ViewPad 7e 7-Inch Discounts

James Morris "jimmy" (phoenix) :
Very fast web browsing. Much better than Kindle Fire. Has real Amazon Kindle Ap. You can't beat it for the price.Don't order The ViewSonic ViewPad 7, 7 Inch Android Tablet Folio Leather Case - Black , it is junk and doesn't fit.

Cheryl Faye Schwartz "Comedy fan" (Bensalem, PA) :
It's a nice piece of hardware with excellent sound and graphics. It's very sturdy. I recently found out that there is a way to install the Android Market and that was the only thing that was missing. Thank you, Dr. Chuck Yuen.
Edit:I dropped my review down because it won't play wma files and their tech support people are morons. If you need to reset the Viewpad because it locked up, then simply press the power key and the home key together. Also, the manual states that it plays wma files and it doesn't.

Lewis (Little Rock, AR USA) :
I bought this for my wife as a birthday gift when she couldn't decide between a Kindle or a Nook. My thought was to get her a tablet with support for both Kindle and Nook apps.
She hasn't put it down since, but the battery seems to discharge rather quickly and doesn't always run too smoothly. I'm surprised that Viewsonic never released a more refined version of the Android build installed on this tablet.

ViewSonic gTablet with 10" Multi-Touch LCD Scree Discounts

Joe Skrote "Joe Skrote" (Winchester, Va.) :
I had been looking for a tablet to watch streaming sports on ESPN3 and FoxSoccer.net. Both sites use Flash video, so obviously the iPad wasn't going to cut it. I read the reviews of the G-Tablet and being pretty successful with mods in the past I decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did - the G-Tablet with the VeganTab ROM beats the iPad in every respect. The instructions for replacing the awful ROM that comes with the G-Tablet are easy to find and follow on the Web, although going through the operation isn't for everyone. It's a shame that this tablet is hamstrung by bad out-of-the-box software - it could have been a contender (my girlfriend, an iPad owner, is jealous of how the G-Tablet performs). For sports fans who want live video on a tablet there's no substitute.

Truck Music (Vermont) :
Out of the box - meh! Change the ROM, do a few little tweaks and then you start to rock. XDA Developers has great stuff to help you. This tutorial [...] really makes it easy to replace the Viewsonic interface. Oh - and did I mention that unlike many devices, this one is rooted so you don't have to play that unlock the device game. I found it was a little fussy getting the android market fixed up and sometimes particular about connecting to some wireless routers but then after Windows, that is a minor thing. I sat in my comfy chair reading the news this morning, had a quick game of Angry Birds (awesome on this screen compared to my Droid X) and did a little web surfing. I love this thing. So, if you don't mind tinkering around, you don't want to have to pay a cell carrier for an account just to use your tablet and you want something that has plenty of power for the next couple of years at a price you can't beat with a stick - get one. Sign up at XDA Developers to ride the new wave with the rest of us and enjoy. Oh.... if you want someone to blow your nose, wipe your bum and tell you what socks you should wear - get an iPad instead.

Dcfergs "dcfergs" (VA United States) :
If I could give this tablet a 4.5 stars I would. The tablet market may not be perfect yet but this tablet is my number one choice for the $$$ without a doubt. I rate myself "medium" on the techy level (I can not code or hack) and I don't have a ton of patience, but I was able to ROOT and flash the vegan tab ROM and now this thing is simple and very fast and smooth. If you don't know what rooting or ROMing means then it is all explained in detail in the xda developers forum, just google it. It took a little time but I was able to add a 16gb mini sd and install some custom apps like ES Explorer, a new media player, angry birds etc. and I could not be happier. It does take a little time to figure out how to do it all but the price and the fun of customization makes this tab with all its great hardware a great choice. I paid $379.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 7-Inch Discounts

Richard L. Van Voorhis (Cicero, IN United States) :
The ViewSonic Viewpad7 is everything I expected and more. My only problem was finding the correct sim card to enable the internet connection when WiFi is not available. ATT&T was able to solve it for $15/month and no contract. I rate this product a 5 out of 5!

M. Politis "selectaste" (USA) :
I already use Android with Nexus One. Most of what I read about the ViewPad 7 made me decide it was worth buying at Amazon.com, for the size and features. I liked what I received. I could even use it as a phone with my existing SIM card. The OS on my Nexus One was recently upgraded to 2.3.x and the ViewPad was not. I became frustrated trying to upgrade it in every way I could think of. Finally, a ViewSonic tech support rep casually told me that this tablet is NOT upgradeable, which means that obsolescence is around the corner. I usually don't do reviews but in 2011 this is unacceptable. ViewSonic, how could you!

Eric Haile (Lake Charles, LA) :
I love my view sonic view pad7. I really like the phone feature. The phone quality is good. I would recommend to get a 16 or 32GB SD card for memory. Once you get that, its all good. the only thing i dont like is its not compatible with adobe flash 10.1. But i think they will fix it if more people buy it.
